Summary: Britax Marathon Comment: I was totally estatic when I did a search for a Britax Marathon and found this! After purchasing the same car seat for my son almost two years ago, I was dreading the idea of spending another $300 on a car seat. Ater doing research on different car seats, I couldn't bring myself to purchase something other than a Britax. So I checked out the Amazon website and found this hot baby for $192--a closeout! How lucky is that?! Its a great seat, I know how to install it, and most of all I'm comfortable knowing my daughter is safe in it.

Summary: Easy to use all around Comment: I started out with my son in the decathalon, which we used for well over a year. However, due to going back and forth between different cars, we sought out to purchase another seat to minimize the amount of time we were spending installing the decathalon. I didn't want to spend as much as I did with the decathalon either, because while it's a good seat, there are several things that I didn't like about the design.
In the end, we purchased the marathon and I'm so much happier with this seat. We still use the decathalon on weekends when we take my husband's car, but I use the marathon during the week and it's made my life easier.
It's so much easier to install than the decathalon. Even with the latch system and endless amounts of tethering, it never seemed like it was that stable. The marathon is tight and secure with much less aggravation.
The straps don't seem to tangle as easily. Sure they tangle a little bit, but the decathalon straps are a pain in the neck. The straps on the marathon are ten times easier to adjust. They adjust a little each time you pull the strap to secure them, and with no resistance at all. The decathalon straps, I practically had to stand on top of the seat to tighten and loosen the straps, giving myself blisters in the process.
I know one other reviewer had mentioned something about cloth diapers adding extra bulk, creating tightness in the groin area. I can't say that I've ever had this problem, and my son is 30+ pounds and makes no hesitation telling me that his goods are bothering him.
It is a big seat, as is the decathalon. I've never had a problem with rear facing. We have ample room forward facing and our Volvo's leg room in the back is a little tight, in my opinion.
Overall, I find that the Britax's have been the most comfortable for my son. They are a little extra, but you get what you pay for. Safety wise, I think they're incredibly safe, but also keep in mind that ALL seats must meet the same government safety requirements. So in reality, what you're paying for is more comfort and ease of use:

The marathon? Totally and completely easy to use in my opinion.

Summary: Baby Car Seat Comment: Very pleased with the response time from ordering to delivery. No problems or compliants with product; everything was as states, it fit perfectably. The Amazon car seat also was the best price via other inrerset providers as well as local stores in my area.

Summary: Super easy install and Made in the USA Comment: My husband and I purchased this seat for our fast growing tall son. He was already 28 inches long and hanging out of his infant car seat at 5 Months so we knew it was time to puchase another. We knew we had to buy a convertable one that would last him, beacuse he is pushing 30 lbs. That is why we decided on the Marathon over the Roundabout because he will most likely be to big for the Roundabout before he is able to be out of a carseat. This is the eighth car seat we have purchased between our three children and we hope we will not have to purchase another.
When we recieved this seat I was worried of its substantal size becuse it had to fit in an extended cab truck, so room is an issue. Not a problem!!!!! It fits great, up against my 4 year olds seat and my eldest daughter can still fit in the back.
This seat was amazingly easy to install with the latch system. I feel it has an all together better latch system period, than any of the other car seats we have owned. It took me less than 5 minutes to install. The great thing was that I didn't need my husbands help. And with most of the latch systems I have to climb into the actual seat to restrain it properly because I am small. Not with this one. They made installing this seat with the latch system small person friendly.
I am also happy that it is made in the USA. And would gladly spend the extra money on just that aspect. Thank You Britax.....

Summary: Britax rules for safety Comment: My children have each had a Marathon. I love the seat. My children enjoy the comfort, I enjoy the ease of fastening and tightening the harness. It installed easily in my Ford Taurus. I currently have a Marathon and Regent. The space is tight back there...there is about a 7 inch space between the two seats, but that is insignificant when compared with their safety. My daughter is outgrowing her Marathon, so I will be moving her to the Regent and my son will go into a booster.
